WAV(PCM / IEEE Float)正確正確正確ヘッダーを直接解析。WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLEにも対応
AIFF / AIFF-C(PCM相当: none/sowt/twos)正確正確正確ヘッダーを直接解析。

  • Chrome / Edge / Firefox / Safari

  • トラックの識別カラーを4色から8色に拡張(Pro Toolsのトラックカラーパレットを参考にしたBlue/Teal/Purple/Pink/Green/Yellow/Orange/Red)

Free Online Multitrack Audio Checker — “MULTI AUDIO CHECKER”

Check the specs, compare by ear — all in one screen.

Drag and drop a batch of audio files and this tool automatically analyzes format, sample rate, bit depth, channel count, bit rate, and duration, listing everything alongside each file’s waveform. It supports WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, and more, and highlights any file whose settings differ from the rest. Play all tracks together with mute, solo, and volume control, or switch to Preview Mode — handy for comparing AI-generated song candidates. Suspected clipping is automatically flagged right on the waveform. Because of screen width, an iPad in landscape or larger is recommended. Freely offered by our studio.

MULTI AUDIO CHECKER Manual (English)

A web tool that lets you drop in a batch of parts data (multitrack stem delivery) and see each file’s sample rate, bit depth, channel count, bit rate, duration, and waveform in a single list, with values that differ from the majority highlighted.

Usage

This tool is free for anyone to use. No permission or notice is required, and commercial use is fine.

Disclaimer

This tool is provided “as is,” with no guarantee of complete accuracy or continued availability. The author is not liable for any damages arising from its use. Content may change or be discontinued without notice.

Supported File Formats

WAV / AIFF / FLAC / MP3 / others (M4A, AAC, OGG, etc. — estimated values)

See “Format Support & Accuracy” below for the accuracy differences between formats.

How to Use

1. Load audio files

Drag and drop audio files onto the box at the top of the screen (multiple files at once are fine), or click it to open a file picker. Once at least one file is loaded, the box shrinks into a small “+ Add files” button that you can use to add more.

2. List view and highlighting

Files appear in the list in the order they were dropped. While analysis is in progress, the transport bar shows “Analyzing N/M…”; each row fills in with format, sample rate, bit depth, channel count, bit rate, duration, and waveform as its analysis finishes.

If a file’s sample rate or bit depth differs from the rest, that cell is highlighted in orange (hover the ⚠ icon to see the majority value). Use this to spot files with mismatched settings hiding among your stems.

Every column header (filename, format, sample rate, bit depth, channels, bit rate, duration) can be clicked to sort; click again to reverse the order.

The toggle button to the left of the column headers (↑↓ / ⠿) switches between sort mode and manual reorder mode. In sort mode (↑↓), clicking a column header sorts the list as described above. Switching to manual mode (⠿) lets you drag each row’s color tab (the strip on the left edge of the lane) to freely reorder the tracks. The order right before you switch back to sort mode becomes the starting point the next time you switch to manual mode.

3. Checking waveforms

A waveform is drawn automatically for each row (it may appear with a short delay). A track that only sounds once in the song (e.g., a cymbal hit) will show as a single blip in its waveform, which helps you tell it apart from silence or a load error.

When files in the list have different lengths, a shorter file’s waveform only draws out to its own actual duration, leaving the rest blank. A dotted vertical line marks that boundary, so you can tell “this file just has silence here” apart from “the file ends here.”

A faint vertical time grid is drawn on the waveform. The interval isn’t fixed — it’s automatically chosen so the lines never get too dense for the current width (anywhere from 5 seconds to 1 hour), so short files get fine gridlines and long files get coarser ones, always readable. The seek bar below shows time labels (0:30, 1:00, …) at that same interval, so the two always match.

The “Waveform size” dropdown above the list lets you choose the waveform display height: Standard / 1.5× / 2× / 3×. This applies to all tracks at once, not per-track.

The “Show channels separately” checkbox above the list splits a stereo (or higher) file’s waveform into stacked bands, one per channel (mono files are unaffected). Normally all channels are combined into a single waveform (so a source with a big left/right level difference never looks silent) — turn this on when you want to check the channels individually. It’s an all-or-nothing toggle for the whole list, not per-row.

4. Playing all tracks together

The ▶ button at the top (or the Space key) plays every track currently shown, all starting from the beginning together (assuming your stems all start at the same point). The seek bar shares the same timeline as each row’s waveform, so you can compare the position of a blip in the waveform against the seek bar position. Stopping returns playback to where it started, rather than pausing in place (Pro Tools-style stop); playing all the way to the end returns to that same starting point too.

The “Master volume” slider above the list adjusts every track’s output together (0 dB reference, range -60 dB to +12 dB). Playing many tracks together can easily clip the combined output, so use this — separately from each track’s own fader — to bring the overall level down (or boost a session that came in quiet overall).

5. Mute, solo, and volume

Press a row’s “M” button to mute just that track (takes effect instantly, even during playback; press again to unmute).

Press a row’s “S” button to solo that track. Multiple tracks can be soloed at once (e.g., to compare two vocal takes). While soloed, a track’s S button lights up yellow, and other tracks’ M buttons light up orange to show they’re auto-muted. Solo takes priority over mute (matching Pro Tools) — soloing a muted track makes that track audible again.

Each row’s vertical slider adjusts that track’s volume individually (0 dB reference, +12 dB max, -∞ = silent at the bottom). The current value in dB is shown while dragging or hovering.

6. Mix mode / Preview mode

A toggle at the top left of the list switches between two modes.

  • Mix mode (default): the normal behavior described above, for when multiple tracks are layers (parts) of the same song — solo allows multiple selections, and turning solo off returns to the full mix
  • Preview mode: for when the loaded files are independent candidates that were never meant to be heard together (e.g., picking the best one out of several AI-generated song candidates, or comparing takes). In this mode, solo is exclusive — always just one track — soloing a track automatically un-solos any other. With nothing soloed, it’s silent (unlike Mix mode, everything never plays together). The Mute button is hidden in this mode, since it has no meaning here

Solo and mute are reset every time you switch modes. Right after switching from Mix mode to Preview mode, the first track in the list is automatically soloed. If you remove the currently soloed track while in Preview mode, solo automatically moves to the next track.

In Preview mode, two small round “1” / “2” buttons appear below each row’s solo button. These are purely visual markers with no effect on audio — use them to flag tracks that catch your attention while comparing. The two are independent and can both be on at once. Their meaning is intentionally left undefined (not fixed to something like “candidate” / “needs review”) so you can use them however fits your workflow. Marks stay on the list as you work, but are reset when you leave Preview mode.

7. Removing and clearing

If you loaded the wrong file, click the “×” button at the right end of its row to remove just that row (no need to clear the whole list). The “Clear” button resets the entire list.

8. Clipping detection

If a file has 3 or more consecutive samples at or above the threshold (checked on either channel), that part of the waveform is marked in red and the row shows a “⚠ Clipping” badge in the top right. This lets you spot at a glance roughly where possible clipping occurs, as a heads-up before opening the file in your DAW.

The “Clipping” checkbox above the list toggles this detection on or off (off by default, since analysis takes extra time — turn it on only when you need it). Turning it on re-analyzes any files already loaded (this can take a moment with many files); a row shows “⏳ Clipping…” while it’s still being analyzed. Files loaded while it’s already on are analyzed as part of the normal import. The dropdown next to it lets you change the threshold, from 0 to -6 dBFS (-1 dBFS by default). Changing the threshold updates the display instantly for already-analyzed files — no need to re-analyze them.

This is only a simple automatic check — it can’t distinguish real clipping from intentional limiting or saturation processing.

Format Support & Accuracy

FormatSample Rate / ChannelsBit DepthBit RateNotes
WAV (PCM / IEEE Float)ExactExactExactParsed directly from the header. WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE supported
AIFF / AIFF-C (PCM-equivalent: none/sowt/twos)ExactExactExactParsed directly from the header. Playback and waveform use a custom PCM decoder
AIFF-C (non-PCM compressed: ima4, etc.)Exact— (not supported)EstimatedDue to the compressed codec. Playback and waveform not supported
FLACExactExactExact (average)Parsed from the STREAMINFO block
MP3Exact— (not applicable, lossy)Exact (average from Xing/VBRI if present, otherwise assumes CBR from the first frame)
Other (M4A/AAC, OGG, etc.)Uses the browser’s decode result— (not supported)Estimated (file size ÷ duration)Shown as “(est.)”

Environment & Notes

  • All processing happens entirely in the browser; files are never uploaded to a server
  • Verified working on the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari
  • WAV / AIFF (PCM-equivalent) / FLAC / MP3 are parsed by the tool itself, so values are equally accurate in any browser. Files treated as “other” (M4A, AAC, OGG, etc.) rely on the browser’s built-in decoder, so support varies by browser (e.g., Safari may be unable to play or show waveforms for OGG)
  • Loading a large batch of files (dozens at once) may temporarily slow the browser down during waveform generation and playback decoding
  • Narrow-screen devices such as smartphones are not supported (the layout breaks). Use a tablet in landscape (e.g. iPad) or a computer with a reasonably wide screen
  • Playback and seeking are meant only for a rough overview and are not a substitute for precise alignment in a DAW
  • The sample rate shown in the list is the exact value from the file header, but actual playback is resampled in real time to whatever clock rate the browser’s AudioContext is running at (depends on your PC/audio interface output setting — commonly 44.1kHz or 48kHz, but could be 96kHz or higher with certain interfaces). The displayed sample rate and the clock rate you’re actually hearing may not match. This actual clock is shown in the “Output clock” field in the header (it’s fixed at the moment the page loads, so reload the page if you change your audio device’s sample rate afterward)

Troubleshooting

SymptomSolution
Stuck on “Analyzing…” foreverThe file may be corrupted or an unsupported format. Check whether its status shows “Error”
Can’t press the ▶ buttonNo files have finished analyzing yet. Wait for analysis to complete
Soloed a track but hear no soundCheck whether that track’s own fader is at the bottom (-∞), or whether “Master volume” is turned down too far. In Preview mode, check whether a different track is soloed instead (Preview mode only ever allows one)
No Mute button in Preview modeThis is expected — Preview mode only plays the single soloed track, so Mute has nothing to do there
Solo/mute disappeared after switching modesThis is expected — solo and mute are reset every time you switch between Mix mode and Preview mode
Accidentally cleared everything“Clear” only resets the list view. Drag and drop the same files again
Changed my audio device’s sample rate, but the “Output clock” display didn’t updateThis is expected — the display is fixed at the moment the page loads. Reload the page after changing the device setting to pick up the new value (verified working)

Changelog

Full version history is available in Japanese above. English notes cover only the 5 most recent releases (from v3.1 onward).

v3.5 (2026-08-31) Code Review Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements

  • Fixed an AIFF parsing bug: the offset field in the SSND chunk’s sub-header (its first 4 bytes) was ignored. Some AIFF files with a nonzero offset here could have their playback and waveform shifted relative to the actual audio data
  • Fixed a bug where removing the last remaining track during playback left playback stuck in a “playing” state
  • Fixed a bug where CRC-protected MP3 files could miss the Xing/Info header that holds the exact duration and bit rate, falling back to an estimate instead
  • Fixed MP3 files with a LAME “Info” tag (CBR) being mislabeled as “VBR” in the format column (the exact duration itself was already correct)
  • Fixed waveform canvases and the time grid not updating after a window resize, leaving them stretched and blurry
  • Loading dozens of files at once no longer rebuilds the entire list on every single analysis completion; completions are now batched into one redraw per frame, reducing lag during large imports
  • Removed a redundant double-draw of each waveform on every full list rebuild
  • Fixed waveform peak calculation occasionally missing a handful of samples at the very end of a file
  • AudioContext is no longer pre-created when the page loads; it’s now created only on the first press of the play button, matching iOS Safari’s autoplay policy more strictly
  • Internal cleanup: analysis for a removed row no longer keeps running in the background, waveform/clip-analysis failures now keep an internal error message for diagnostics, and the oversized lane-rendering function was split into focused helpers (no visible change)

v3.4 (2026-08-23) Auto-Scroll During Manual Reorder

  • While dragging a track in manual reorder mode, the page now auto-scrolls when you carry the cursor near the top or bottom edge of the screen. Fixes a bug where, with many files loaded, you couldn’t drag a track from the bottom of the list up to the top — the page just wouldn’t scroll while you held it
  • Native HTML5 drag-and-drop’s built-in auto-scroll is too weak on its own (it barely responds while the cursor sits still at an edge), so this uses its own requestAnimationFrame loop instead
  • The upward trigger zone is anchored to the bottom edge of the column header row (Name/Format/Sample Rate/etc.) rather than a fixed pixel distance from the physical top of the screen. Since that header row stays pinned at the top of the viewport, overlapping it already means no more list rows are visible above — so scrolling should kick in as soon as you cross it
  • Matched the downward trigger zone to the same size as the upward one — the actual height of the header row — instead of a separate fixed pixel value. With two different fixed sizes, the scroll speed used to ramp up abruptly right after crossing into the zone on the way down; now both directions respond identically

v3.3 (2026-08-23) Added Master Output Level Meters

  • Added L/R master output level meters to the right of the master volume slider in the transport. They reflect the actual combined signal — after every track’s mute, solo, fader, and master volume — so they show exactly what’s coming out of the speakers. Square-cornered bars, no rounding
  • Detection uses sample-accurate peak detection via AudioWorklet, plus standard meter ballistics (fast attack, slow release) — the same implementation as the sibling STUDIO TONE GENERATOR’s level meters
  • The look is LED-segment style, done purely with a CSS mask (no extra DOM elements). The bars run horizontally rather than vertically so they fit into the transport’s single toolbar row
  • Color bands match a Pro Tools master fader meter: green covers a wide -60 to -10dBFS, yellow (-10 to -5dBFS) and orange (-5 to -2dBFS) are thin bands near the top, and red (-2 to 0dBFS) is a clip-warning sliver at the very top
  • The meters snap back to 0 immediately whenever playback stops (including jump-to-start and reaching the end of the file)

v3.2 (2026-08-22)

  • Added an accent-colored glow ring around the seek bar, master volume, and per-track fader thumbs while dragging, so it’s clearer which one you’re actually holding
  • Enlarged the seek bar thumb to 20px and the master volume thumb to 16px (per-track faders stay at 16px), prioritizing the easiest-to-grab control (the seek bar) most
  • Split the play/jump-to-start buttons and the seek bar into separate rows. This fixes a bug where the seek bar’s thumb and each track’s waveform playhead line didn’t line up — caused by the button row’s width not matching the waveform’s left-side margin (the color tab + mute/solo + per-track volume fader columns)
  • Unified the play and jump-to-start buttons to the same 40×40 size, and shifted the whole transport row to start at the same x-position as the waveforms
  • Moved the playback time readout (e.g. 0:15 / 0:30) from the toolbar settings row to the right of the play button; the file count (e.g. 1 file) stays in the settings row, keeping playback info and load-status info separate
  • Added a persistent accent-colored border around the transport bar so it reads as a distinct control panel instead of blending into the track list below. While playing, an additional accent glow appears around it as a “currently playing” indicator
  • Changed the Mix mode / Preview mode switch from a two-button text pill into a single round button at the left edge of the transport (icon + a “MIX”/”PREVIEW” label). Restructuring the transport like a track row (a fixed-width left column plus a body) let the play/jump-to-start buttons stay aligned with the waveforms while still giving the mode switch its own dedicated spot. The label stays in English regardless of the display language (JA/EN)
  • Moved the master volume fader from the toolbar settings row to the right of the playback time readout, grouping all playback-related controls and info (jump-to-start, play, mode, time, volume) into the transport
  • Widened the gap between the play button row and the seek bar row from 10px to 16px so it doesn’t feel as cramped
  • Fixed Space to always mean “play/stop all tracks,” full stop. Previously, pressing Space right after clicking a button like delete, clear, mute, solo, a marker, jump-to-start, or the sort-mode toggle would re-trigger that button instead of toggling playback — in the delete button’s case, this could actually delete a track by accident

v3.1 (2026-08-22)

  • Added a “jump to start” button to the left of the play button. Pressing it while playing restarts the whole mix from the beginning; pressing it while stopped just moves the next play position back to the start
  • Added small round “1” / “2” marker buttons below each row’s solo button in Preview mode. Purely visual, no effect on audio — flag tracks that catch your attention while comparing, however fits your workflow (the two are independent and both resettable when you leave Preview mode)
  • Changed the Mix mode / Preview mode toggle’s active-tab text color from white to a dark color, since it was hard to read against the yellow background. Also dropped the bold weight (font-weight: 600) on the active tab, now matching the regular weight of the inactive tab
