1枚の画像に、いくつもの「正しい形」が求められる時代です。同じジャケット写真やアーティスト写真であっても、YouTubeのサムネイルでは横長、Instagramの投稿では正方形に近い縦長、ストーリーズではさらに縦に長い比率が求められます。このたびRED IGUANA STUDIOでは、こうした比率の書き出し作業をブラウザ上で完結できる無料のWebツール「ASPECT RATIO CHANGER」を公開いたしました。画像をドラッグ&ドロップし、比率を指定するだけで、クロップ・余白追加・手動配置の3つの方法から選んで書き出せるツールです。
ASPECT RATIO CHANGERとは
音楽制作の現場において、画像の書き出し作業は音そのものとは直接関係がないように見えて、実はリリースの完成度を大きく左右する工程です。ジャケット写真、アーティスト写真、告知用のバナー画像は、掲載先が変わるたびに異なる比率での書き出しを求められます。YouTubeのサムネイルは横長の比率、Instagramのフィード投稿はやや縦長の比率、ストーリーズはさらに縦に伸びた比率というように、プラットフォームごとに「正しい形」が異なるためです。
これまでは、デザインソフトを開いてキャンバスサイズを設定し、位置を微調整しながら書き出す、という手間が発生していました。ASPECT RATIO CHANGERは、この一連の作業をブラウザだけで完結させることを目的に開発したツールです。画像を読み込ませると解像度・アスペクト比・ファイル形式が自動で表示され、指定した比率に「クロップ」「余白を足す」「手動」のいずれかの方法で変換できます。処理はすべてブラウザのメモリ内で行われ、画像がサーバーに送信されることはありません。

- 手動配置の細やかな調整：50〜300%の範囲でのズームに加え、ドラッグ操作、矢印キーでの微調整、画像中心がフレーム中心に近づいた際の自動スナップに対応しており、感覚的にもキーボードでも位置を追い込めます。
- 出力設定の自由度：出力形式はPNG・JPEG・WebPから選択でき、JPEG・WebPは画質を10〜100%の範囲で調整可能です。ファイル名も自由に編集でき、出力サイズは幅または高さを数値で指定するとアスペクト比を保ったまま解像度を変更できます（上限8000px）。
対応する入力形式はJPEG・PNG・WebP・GIF・BMP・SVG・AVIFなど、お使いのブラウザが画像として読み込める形式に対応しており、ファイルサイズの上限は50MBです。画面右上のボタンから日本語・英語をワンクリックで切り替えられる点も、海外向けのリリース素材を扱う際には便利にお使いいただけるかと思います。

We’ve Released a Free Online Image Aspect Ratio Tool: “ASPECT RATIO CHANGER”
A single image is now expected to take on several different shapes depending on where it’s used. The same cover photo might need to be wide for a YouTube thumbnail, closer to square-but-taller for an Instagram feed post, and taller still for a Story. RED IGUANA STUDIO has released a free web tool, ASPECT RATIO CHANGER, to handle this kind of re-cropping entirely in the browser. What Is ASPECT RATIO CHANGER?
In music production, image export work has little to do with sound itself, yet it often shapes how polished a release feels. Cover art, artist photos, and promotional banners each need to be re-exported at a different ratio depending on the platform — a wide ratio for a YouTube thumbnail, a taller ratio for an Instagram feed post, and taller still for Stories. ASPECT RATIO CHANGER was built to let you do all of this from the browser alone: drop in an image to see its resolution, aspect ratio, and file format, then convert it to your target ratio via crop, padding, or manual placement. Everything runs in your browser’s memory — nothing is uploaded to a server.
